Campania International's new line of glazed and terra cotta pottery is high-fired between 990 (terra cotta) and 1000 (glazed) degrees centigrade to ensure frost resistance and durability. Due to the processes used in the manufacturing of our hand-made and hand-glazed containers, all variations with respect to firing, color, size and crackling are natural occurrences in the manufacturing process.

Let’s be real: the Daralis Glazed Fountain is kind of a vibe all on its own. Picture this - chunky, glossy ceramic, hand-made, just chilling wherever you plop it down, humming away with that mellow water sound. Not too loud, not too quiet, honestly just right. Stands at 18 inches tall with a solid 14.5-inch width and a base that won’t tip over if your dog runs by. And the colors - either Riviera Blue, which is basically “ocean at golden hour” energy, or this deep Mediterranean tone that looks way more expensive than it actually is.It holds about a gallon and a half of water - nothing crazy, but enough to weigh in at 60 lbs. when filled. That “Echo” sound it makes? It’s got that soft, Zen thing going on, like you’re in a fancy spa, but you’re just in your backyard with a coffee. Barely splashes, super low-maintenance, and somehow manages to pull your whole space together without even trying. Toss it in a garden corner, on the patio, or right inside if you’re feeling extra - suddenly you’ve got your own little sanctuary. Not bad for a chunk of pottery, right?

We suggest that birdbath/fountain tops not be left outside in the winter. Once the top fills with water/snow and freezes, the top may crack. All birdbath/fountain bases, bench legs and statuary should be raised up off the ground in winter so they will not freeze to the ground surface. Ideally, a fountain should be stored indoors in the winter away from the elements. However, if a fountain bowl must be left outside, remove all pumps, rubber stoppers, drain pipes, finials and small components, and cover the top with burlap or any absorbent material (old blanket/towel) and then wrapped with dark plastic, making sure that water does not accumulate in the basin and freeze. Fountain pumps, finials, and other small components should be stored indoors. Check the fountain periodically to insure that the cover is secure and water is not accumulating in any fountain component.

It is very important for you to protect your cast stone and pottery fountains, birdbaths, planters and statuary from the freeze-thaw cycle during the winter months. Ideally, cast stone and pottery decor that can collect water, should not be left outside when temperatures dip down to freezing. They should be stored indoors or in a dry protected place such as a covered porch or garage that is away from the elements. This is not always possible, so it is recommended that you completely dry out your decor and add a waterproof cover. This is because any cast stone or pottery component that can hold water and freeze has the potential to crack and crumble. Components such as fountain pedestals which remain in a basin/pool can also crack or crumble.
