If used in the appropriate amounts, this will not discolor the fountain. It is not a harsh chemical and is safe for fountain finishes.

Is this safe to use in a birdbath?

As long as the product is used according to directions, it will not harm animals or pets.

How much do you put in small water fountains ?

For most fountains this size we recommend no more than a capfull each time you add new water to your feature.

Does this product keep the fountain walls algae free as well as the water or just the water? Looking for something to replace bleach as it leaves white residue. Thank you

Yes, this product is a concentrated additive that helps prevent against algae growth. We have another product call Protec that aids with mineral build up. They can be used together, and won't cause any adverse effects.
