Brass Baron Boy Petting Dog Garden Statue

How do I clean this? I purchased it several years ago and it has become very stained with streaks

Brush away loose dirt, dust, or spiderwebs using a soft-bristled brush or a dry cloth. Dip a soft sponge or cloth into the soapy water and wipe down the statue. Use a soft toothbrush to clean dirt out of deep crevices and textured. Rinse off all soapy residue using clean water from a gentle garden hose or a damp cloth. Pat and dry the entire piece with a clean microfiber towel. Let it air dry completely before applying any wax or sealant if you choose.
