Can the fire place be mounted with anything over part of the facing?
As long as the materials are non compustible and heat resistant, they can slightly cover the frame. You do not want anything covering the opening.
Is it zero clearance?
This fireplace does require a small clearance. You want to leave at least 1 inch above the insert to the top of the opening where it will be installed.
