Whether you are trying to decorate a sprawling home or a large waiting room for a business, you need décor pieces that are scaled to the room’s size. Sure, you can add a lot of small art pieces but they will all essentially just get lost in the landscape. You need at least one significant item that can become the focus of the environment. In many cases, a large space can accommodate several things on this list at one time.

Freestanding Fountains – You really will not find anything else that will impact a room quite like freestanding fountains. These dramatic pieces instantly become the center of attention in any space they occupy. Not only is their beauty unparalleled; the sound they make can transform a room into a tranquil oasis. Some of them stand as tall as 10 feet, and they are available in slate, glass, and mirror with gorgeous trims, such as copper and stainless steel.
Sculpture – It does not matter if you add a giant statue of Buddha or a giraffe it is going to get noticed. In a room this large, the motto is “Go big or go home!” so if you are going to use a sculpture or statue of some sort it needs to be extra-large. Otherwise it will look misplaced.
Wall Fireplace – A nice wide, horizontal bio ethanol fireplace will take care of your art for one wall. A six burner option at over 6 feet wide would be perfect. Bio ethanol is a clean-burning fuel source, so you do not have to worry about it creating smoke or releasing dangerous toxins into the air you breathe.
Wall Art – You have a few options when it comes to decorating your walls. Some people like the three or four-panel paintings that can be spaced apart to take up more room. You can also buy random paintings that look good together and stagger them in an unforced way when mounting. You may also like a large metal sculpture or mirror. You could have a favorite picture enlarged into poster size and stretched on a canvas, too.
Mural – If you do not mind an artist being in your home several hours per visit over the course of a few weeks, you could pay to have someone paint a mural. If you are feeling a little artistic but are not quite sure if you can pull off something so extravagant then apply white wallpaper to the wall and paint that. You can always cover it and start over.
