Are you longing to give your bedroom a makeover? Most people are! In many homes, the bedroom is the most dated simply because people feel that since guests do not see it, it is not as important to update. If you are going to splurge on new décor pieces you would rather put them on display for everyone to see, right? Well, you spend one-third of your life in your bedroom. Even if you are the only person who sees it you deserve it to be spectacular. Not to mention, if it was actually attractive, maybe you would not be in such a hurry to hide it behind a door when people do come over. You do not have to spend a ton of money. A bedroom can easily be revamped without breaking the bank.

Paint – A fresh coat of paint is essential. Now is the time to paint that bold-colored accent wall or pinstripe the wall behind your headboard. You might even want to consider putting wall paper on one wall that looks like brick, wood, or stone.

Rug or Remnant – If you have carpet you probably are not really looking to replace it. Fortunately, you can go to a carpet store and buy a large remnant that will cover a nice portion of the room. Even if the carpet still showing around the room’s perimeter has seen better days it will not be as noticeable once the remnant is down. You also want a decorative area rug. This is also essential if you have wood floors.

Bedding – A new comforter and sheets will completely change the look of a room. If you have always played it safe with solids maybe it is time to finally get a print. If you have a floral design now maybe you want something solid with patterned accents in the room. Your bedding should essentially be picked out before you decide on paint color or buy a rug.

Modern Gel Fireplaces – You should add one new piece of art to the space that will create a focal point. Modern gel fireplaces are perfect. Wouldn’t it be nice to cozy up next to a fire while you are reading or watching a movie in bed? The flame can easily be extinguished when you go to sleep simply by replacing the cap to the gel can. Even when not lit, modern gel fireplaces are still stunning art pieces.
